Paintless Dent Repair

Body repair·2 min read

Removing dents from a car body without repainting is usually done using methods that do not damage the top layer of the paintwork. However, it should be noted that whether the repair is possible and how effective it will be depends on the type and depth of the dent and the condition of the paintwork. In some cases, especially with significant damage, painting may be required to fully restore the car’s appearance.

There are two main methods of paintless dent removal:

  1. The hot air method (PDR – Paintless Dent Repair): This method is suitable for small dents that have not damaged the paintwork. The technician uses special tools to massage the dent from the inside while applying heated air, which allows the body to return to its original shape.
  2. Using suction cups or special glue tabs: In some cases, the technician can attach a suction cup or glue tab to the dent and then apply force to pull the dent out, either by hand or with special tools.

It is important to understand that not every type of dent can be repaired without painting. Some dents may have damaged the paint or have a complex shape, which makes PDR impossible or ineffective. In such cases, more traditional repair, including painting the body, may be necessary.

If you need dents removed, we recommend contacting professional auto service centers that specialize in paintless dent repair. They will be able to assess the damage and suggest the best way to restore your car.
